Organic cacao nibs are dark brown granules from grains of the Theobroma cacao.

The cacao tree is native to South America. Its beans have been consumed for thousands of years and were used by the Mayan civilisation in spiritual ceremonies.

Cacao is a rich source of antioxidants such as procyanidins and flavonoids, specifically epicatechin. Cacao contains the naturally occurring stimulants caffeine and theobromine.  

Organic cacao nibs contain iron and magnesium. This product is obtained from carefully selected cacao beans which are then washed and disinfected. The skins of the cacao are softened using low heat treatment, and the grains are ground and de-husked to obtain the raw cacao nib.

Organic cacao nibs can be eaten alone as a nutritious snack, added to granolas, or sprinkled onto smoothies and yogurts. They can also be used in the preparation of fine chocolate and associated products.
