Product No. P1963

Also known as Chlorella pyrenoidosa.
Chlorella is an edible freshwater single-celled plant. It is described as a ‘green food’ – a group of products derived from other microalgae – and contains important phytochemicals that protect and fight against disease, as well as protein, beta-carotene, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Chlorella is believed to assist in detoxifying harmful chemicals, heavy metals and pollutants from the body. It is often recommended for non-specific complaints such as fatigue, and as a general tonic for strength and vitality.

Japanese researchers have discovered that chlorella can raise blood levels of the protein albumin, which is the body’s most powerful antioxidant and transport system for vitamins and other nutrients. Albumin is also extremely important as it carries toxins from the cells into the liver to be broken down, and without adequate levels, the vital organs (i.e. kidneys, liver), as well as the immune system, cannot function efficiently.
